Last night, students of Bowen private university, Iwo, went on a riot to
protest an increase in school fees and scarcity of electricity and
water supply. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the fee was increased
from N540,000 to N640,000.
The angry students reportedly vandalised their chaplain’s home, smashed
cars and caused mayhem all over the university campus. It was gathered
that the Vice Chancellor’s car was also destroyed too.
The school security personnel reportedly fled while the students were on rampage but the police came to calm things down.
